These first two knives may surpass the kind I first bought. Both are on order, and I will evaluate them.

The best Kukris seem to be from Windlass, made in India.

The first source I used to buy the kukri is not recommended, but the knife is. It is a little lighter, and better finished than the first Kukri I bought. I do recommend this knife, but I recommend you get it from By The Sword, listed above. KOA got my Postal Money Order, and did not mail it out until I wrote them about it over six weeks later. I do not recommend them. I do recommend the Kukri. Not Recommended Source. Note after first cutting:-- Cutting review,
the blade in action, in growing wood. Just cut down a twenty foot Scrub Poplar
Tree, over five inches thick at its base, and limbed it, in less time than it
takes to tell about it, with this giant Kukri. There was none of the "fruitless
recoil" or "bounce" an axe would have in the same situation. There was only
swift "biting" and "gliding through the wood.".. continues

Made by the government contractor Windlass Steelcrafts. Hand forged from high carbon steel.
Each comes with regulation sheath. Beheads water buffaloes with a single stroke for the traditional Gurkha sacred ceremony. Very scarce! Only one issued to each Gurkha Regiment in India.
Specially carved native hardwood handle.
Polished steel blade is a staggering 3/8" thick and more than 2 1/2 feet
long. Weighs 4 lbs. 6 oz.
MEASUREMENTS: Blade- 2 1/2 feet long, 3/8" thick Wt. 4lbs 6 oz.
Price: $63.00 (Excluding: FL Sales Tax at 6%) Shipping on mine was ten
dollars.

I do not yet know if the black comes off the sheath of this Kukri, as I have detailed elsewhere.

Cheaper than dirt Kukri Machete
Have not tried this one, but it is only about eight dollars. Seems not to be as substantial.
