TWELVE STEPS TO AN INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, JESUS, AND THE
HOLY SPIRIT, AND TO OTHER PEOPLE
(Most of the scriptures are paraphrased)
1. I pledge allegiance to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, and I choose to turn my life completely over to Them.
Jer. 3:22 "O my rebellious child, come back to me again and I will heal you from your false child, servant, and authority." And I reply, "Yes, I will come, for you are the Lord my God. TLB. Psa 71:3 Be to me a rock of refuge in which to dwell, and a sheltering stronghold to which I may continually resort, which You have appointed to save me. For You are my Rock and my Fortress. 4.Rescue me, O my God, out of the hand of Satan, out of the grasp of unrighteous and ruthless evil beings. AMP. See Ps. 71:1-19: Psa 143:7-12: Luke 15:18-24: Rom Chapter 5,6,7.
2. I pledge allegiance to God to be filled with His Love. I break allegiance with Satan to be motivated by fear.
1 John 4: 16 And I choose to understand, recognize, and know by observation and experience the Love of God, and I pledge allegiance to continually dwell in the LOVE God desires for me to have. Amp. 1 John 4:18. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.19 We love Him because He first loved us. NKJV
3. I will admit that I cannot control my situation, and I cannot control my life. I pledge my allegiance to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit and let them take over my life from this moment onward.
2 Cor 7:1 Therefore, since these great promises are mine, I will let God cleanse me from everything that contaminates and defiles my spirit, soul, and body, and I will continually consecrate myself to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit so that I become complete in the reverential fear of the Lord. AMP 2 Tim 2:21; James 4:8; 1 John 3:3; Ps 65:3: Isa 1:18;Eze 36:25; Heb 9:14; 1 Jn 1:7; Ps19:12; Ps 51:2,7; Ps79:9; 1Cor 6:11;
4. I will acknowledge that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit have more power than me, any other person, or Satan, and They are the only ones who can restore me to the true person in my spirit, soul, and body that They created me to be.
Phil 2:15 That I may show myself to be blameless and guiltless, innocent and uncontaminated, true child of God without blemish (faultless, unrebukable) in the midst of a crooked and wicked generation [spiritually perverted and perverse], among whom I will be seen as a bright light (star or beacon shining out clearly) in the [dark] world. 16.And offering to all people, Jesus, the Word of Life, so that in the day of His coming, I may have something of which to rejoice and glory in that I did not run my race in vain or spend my labor for no purpose. AMP (paraphrased) Col 1:22; 1 Thes 3:12,13;2 Pet 3:14;
5. I pledge allegiance to the Holy Spirit to reveal to me all the things in my life that are, and are not of the Kingdom of God.
1 John 2:27 But as for me, the Holy Spirit abides permanently in me; therefore, I have no need that any human instruct me. As the Holy Spirit teaches me concerning everything about what is true and what is false, I choose to live in and never depart from being rooted in, and joined to God, Jesus, and the Holy spirit. The Holy Spirit will continually teach me how to do this as I submit to Him. AMP
6. I choose to repent of all things the Holy Spirit shows me, and I pledge my allegiance to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit that they might deliver me from all things in my life that are not of the Kingdom of God.
Acts 3:19 I choose to repent of the false child and his helpers, and return to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that my disobedience to Them may be erased, blotted out, wiped clean, as I continually experience being delivered from the effects of the false child, and continually experience the presence of the true child in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
7. I pledge allegiance to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit and I ask Them to reveal to me all the people in my life who have harmed me, and all the people I have harmed.
Matt 22:36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” 37 Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself. ’TLB
I ask God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit to forgive and empower me to forgive myself for the harm I have brought on myself and on other people who may or may not have harmed and hurt me, and to forgive myself for the people I have hurt.
8. I pledge allegiance to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. I ask them to lead me to the people that I have harmed, and to empower me to ask their forgiveness for anything that I have done to them.
Matt 5: 22 But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to God’s judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the God’s court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell. 23 “So if you are presenting a request before God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, 24 leave your request and go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and make your request known to God.
9: I will continually pledge my allegiance to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. I ask Them to to reveal to me all the people in my life who have harmed me and all the people I have harmed. I ask for the anointing to receive Your forgiveness for the people I have harmed, and empower me to forgive those who have harmed and hurt me. Under your anointing I will go to the people you lead me to ask forgiveness for what I have done.
Pro 28:13 He who tries to cover his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes his sins will obtain mercy. AMP. Mark 11:25And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and let it drop (leave it, let it go), in order that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your [own] failings and shortcomings and let them drop. AMP
Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven (left, remitted , and let go of the debts, and have given up resentment against) our debtors. AMP
Eph 4: 32 And become useful and helpful and kind to one another, tenderhearted (compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted), forgiving one another [readily and freely], as God in Christ forgave you.
Matthew 6: 14 For if you forgive people their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses.
10. I choose to continually pledge my allegiance to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit to show me areas of my life that I need to repent of, and empower me to admit my wrongs and receive your forgiveness.
Psa 26:2 2 Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; test my heart and my mind. AMP
Psa 38:18 For I do confess my guilt and iniquity; I am filled with sorrow for my disobedience to you.
Psa 139:23 Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! Psa 28:13 He who covers his transgressions will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes his sins will obtain mercy. I John 1:8 If we say we have no sin [refusing to admit that we are sinners], we delude and lead ourselves astray, and the Truth [which the Gospel presents] is not in us [does not dwell in our hearts]. 9If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action]. 10If we say (claim) we have not sinned, we contradict His Word and make Him out to be false and a liar, and His Word is not in us [the divine message of the Gospel is not in our hearts].
Psa 32: 5 I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I did not hide. I said, I will confess my transgressions to the Lord [continually unfolding the past till all is told]--then You instantly forgave me the guilt and iniquity of my sin. [pause, and calmly meditate on that] Amp
11. I will continually submit myself to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, and through prayer and meditation, I ask them to reveal Themselves to me, talk to me, fellowship with me until I began to personally know Them and their will for my life, and to be empowered to do Their will as they direct me.
Psa 1:2 But my delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) I will habitually meditate (ponder and study) by day and by night. Acts 22:14 God has destined and appointed you to come progressively to know His will [to perceive, to recognize more strongly and clearly, and to become better and more intimately acquainted with His will]. AMP Paraphrased.
1 John 2:27 But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ. NLT. Eze 36:26ff. I'll pour pure water over you and scrub you clean. I'll give you a new heart, put a new spirit in you. I'll remove the stone heart from your body and replace it with a heart that's God-willed, not self-willed. I'll put my Spirit in you and make it possible for you to do what I tell you and live by my commands. Message.
12. I pledge allegiance to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit and I will open myself up to Them to grow up into a deep, personal, intimate relationship with Them in my true child.
1 Cor 13:11 When I was a false child, I talked like a false child, I thought like a false child, I reasoned like a false child; now that I have become a true child, I am done with the ways of my false child, and Jesus has delivered me from them and the Holy Spirit has given me the true child to take the false child’s place. (Amp. My phrasing)
1 Cor 14:20 Do not be false immature children in your thoughts and actions or continue to be unaware of how the false child functions in you, but in your personality be true children, true servants, and true authorities. AMP (My Paraphrase)
Eph 4:13 13 That God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit will work in us until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the [full and accurate] knowledge of the true child, servant, and authority, that we might attain the completeness of personality (true child, servant, and authority which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ's own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of Jesus Christ and the completeness found in Him.
