Despair as a companion

First, you need to know that what I am going to say will not apply to you directly.  It will apply to you individually, differently, in your circumstances, and you need to let the LORD show you how it might be so.

Of late, I have learned to hear and obey the LORD, to new heights.  When I do so, the LORD is with me, and is my companion, and friend.  Most of us have a substitute for that relationship with Jesus.

This morning, a Saturday, I was getting ready to start the day, when all these fear and depression thoughts came up in my mind.  I immediately refused and rebuked them.

Sitting down for a minute, the Holy Spirit began to speak to me.  This is what He said:

Despair is a companion for many people.  It tells you that it understands your problems, and that everyone and every thing is against you, and it is on your side.  (That is to say, it is a spirit.)

It gives you a feeling of comfort and companionship, just like when you listen to and obey my voice.  Only thing is, it takes you down to (spiritual) death.

He further said: people who are in depression have heard its voice and agreed to it so much that it has overcome them, for a time.  Remember how you say that you just have to work through it, sometimes?   That is why.

For many of us, this is a stronghold of Satan in our lives.  To be sure, getting free of the bad-things-that-might-  come-false-images will require a battle.

Let the Holy Spirit show you how Satan is operating in your life to give you this kind of  false comfort and false companionship.

My prayer is that God show you just how great the Love and Mercy is that He has for you, that has been expressed through Jesus Christ.  Let him further show you how and when to refuse the attacks on your mind that Satan is directing against you.

In Jesus Name, Amen.
