It is very powerful and if you really begin to pray it, you will begin to get free of your old nature. All of us have an old nature whether we are Christians or not. It is what we are constantly fighting in our lives. If you did not have an old nature, you would never sin anymore. As Jesus said, "You, who are without sin, cast the first stone." The reason the Son of God came to earth was to destroy the works of the devil. 1st John 3:8 says, "He who sins is of the devil because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. Therefore, the only being in me that sins is my old nature, and it has been causing me to sin all my life. Whenever, your old nature rears it ugly head to get you to sin in someway say this to it. Jesus Christ came to destroy the works of the devil. Lord, my old nature is a work of the devil. Come into me and destroy my old nature and all of its works until it is completely gone from my life. I see the Jesus come with his mighty sword and destroy my old nature and all of its works. Jesus, I thank you for doing this for me. I choose for Jesus to fill me with the new person and I choose to stop living in the old nature from this day forward.
