Subject: Re: How to get rid of the Old man nature
Someone asked me to send them some material on the old man nature. I found an article I had written some time back, and I sensed the anointing of the Holy Spirit on it. I am sending it out to everyone.
HOW TO GET RID OF THE OLD MAN NATURE IN YOUR LIFE
DESCRIPTIONS OF WHERE I AM BEFORE I CHOOSE FOR MY OLD MAN T0 BE CRUCIFIED ON THE CROSS WITH JESUS
I am distracted from trusting You, O, God, because of the voices of familiar spirits, and because of the oppression and threatenings of Satan and his Zodiac angels; For they are constantly bringing curses and trouble upon me. And in their wrath, they hate and persecute me. My heart is severely pained within me, and the terrors of death have fallen upon me. Fear and trembling have come upon me, and horror and fright have overwhelmed me. (Paraphrase of Psalm 55:3-5)
WHERE WE ARE NOW, AND WHAT WE ARE TO DO ABOUT IT.
(Eph 3:17-24 AMP paraphrased) So this I say and solemnly testify in the name of the Lord as in His Presence that you must no longer live as the world does in their perverseness—in the folly, vanity and emptiness of their souls and the futility of their minds and emotions.
Their moral understanding is darkened and their reasoning is confused. They are alienated (estranged, self-banished) from the life of God with no share in it. This is because of their ignorance, their lack of knowledge and perception, and their willful blindness that is deep-seated in them, due to their hardness of heart and the insensitiveness of their moral nature.
In their spiritual apathy, they have become callous and past feeling and reckless, and have abandoned themselves as a prey to unbridled sensuality, eager and greedy to indulge in every form of impurity that their depraved lusts may suggest and demand. But you did not so learn Christ! Assuming that you have really heard Him and been taught by Him, as all truth is in Jesus—embodied and personified in Him. Choose to strip yourselves of your former nature. Put off and discard your old unrenewed self that characterized your previous way of life which has become corrupt through lust and addictions that spring from deception and delusion.
Choose to be constantly renewed in your spirit, soul, and body by choosing to put on the new person who was created in God’s image in true righteousness and holiness.
WHAT IS THE FIRST THING I HAVE TO DO TO GET RID OF THE OLD MAN?
Nothing in me wants to get rid of the old man nature. Satan, the Zodiac angel in charge of my life, the curses and covenants from my ancestors, my own desire to be my own God, the Antichrist spirit in my human spirit, the images in my imagination, the familiar spirits in my conscience, the images in my memory, all my fear, anger, resentment, and unforgiveness toward God, myself, and other people, and all my addictions and lusts say NO! to getting rid of my old man nature. With all these voting for the old man nature to remain in me, what am I supposed to do?
The only thing in you that is still free and can not be violated by Satan, unless you agree to let him do it, is your will. God created you with a free will, and you can make a will choice at anytime regardless of how you think or feel about anything. Your will is so free that God himself will not violate your will. Therefore the key to you getting free is to say what Job said when he decided in his free will to trust God. Job said,
“Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him…”
Regardless of how I feel, what I think, how fearful I am of giving up my old man, I must make a will choice to trust God even if he kills me. The truth of the matter is that God would never kill you for putting your full faith and trust in Him. God loves you so much that He sent Jesus, His only son, who had no sin of any kind in his life to die in your stead so that you could be free from your old sinful nature and be restored to the new person He created you to be before the earth was ever formed.
If I choose to trust God, He has put into place everything I need to be free from the old man nature. Getting rid of the old man nature is only a matter of choice on your part. God has already provided for you to be free of your old man nature and to live in the new person you were created to be.
HOW HAS GOD PROVIDED FOR ME TO BE FREE OF THE OLD MAN AND LIVE IN THE NEW PERSON?
Our heavenly Father looked down on us and saw what the sin of Adam and Eve had done to us. He then chose to send his only Son, who was without sin, to die on a cross so that we might choose to place our sins on the cross with him, and because Jesus was raised from the dead, I might join with Jesus to be raised from the death of my old man nature into the new life I was created to be from the beginning.
(Rom 6:1-13 NKJV) What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that
grace may abound? {2} Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? {3} Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? {4} Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. {5} For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,
{6}knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. {7} For he who has died has been freed from sin. {8} Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, {9} knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. {10} For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
{11} Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. {12} Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. {13} And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
(Col 2:11-14 TLB) When you came to Christ, he set you free from your evil desires, not by a bodily operation of circumcision but by a spiritual operation, the baptism of your souls. {12} For in baptism you see how your old, evil nature died with him and was buried with him; and then you came up out of death with him into a new life because you trusted the Word of the mighty God who raised Christ from the dead.
{13} You were dead in sins, and your sinful desires were not yet cut away. Then he gave you a share in the very life of Christ, for he forgave all your sins, {14} and blotted out the charges proved against you, the list of his commandments which you had not obeyed. He took this list of sins and destroyed it by nailing it to Christ's cross.
(Heb 2:14-15 NKJV) Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh
and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He
might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, {15}
and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
on the cross with Jesus. Make this proclamation as you are putting your
old nature on the cross to die.
(Psa 51:1-17 NKJV) Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your
loving-kindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot
out my transgressions. {2} Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And
cleanse me from my sin. {3} For I acknowledge my transgressions, And my
sin is always before me. {4} Against You, You only, have I sinned, And
done this evil in Your sight; That You may be found just when You speak,
And blameless when You judge.
{5} Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me. {6} Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom. {7} Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. {8} Make me hear joy and gladness, That the bones You have broken may rejoice. {9} Hide Your face from my sins, And blot out all my iniquities.
{10} Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. {11} Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. {12} Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. {13} Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners shall be converted to You. {14} Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, The God of my salvation, And my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness.
{15} O Lord, open my lips, And my mouth shall show forth Your praise. {16} For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. {17} The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart; These, O God, You will not despise.
Begin to praise God for what he has done for you
WHAT TRIES TO PREVENT ME FROM CHOOSING TO DIE ON THE CROSS WITH JESUS.
The one thing that constantly tries to prevent me from going to the cross and dying with Jesus is the fear of death. In our minds it is the fear of a physical or emotional death. This is what the familiar spirits are always telling you so you will not choose to go to the cross and die with Jesus.
The truth of the matter is that they are telling you this to keep your old man nature alive in you. The threat they are implying is that you will die emotionally or physically.
When, in truth, it is your old man nature that is going to die. Jesus did not have an old man nature, however, through His innocent death on the cross, He provided a way for you and I to have our old man nature put to death on the cross with him—A co-death with Jesus.
If I participate in a co-death with Jesus, then I will participate in a co-life with Him because he was raised from the dead. Therefore, I am enabled to participate in the new life that was created for me before the earth was ever formed.
(Rom 8:38-39 NKJV) For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, {39} nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Isa 54:14 NKJV) In righteousness you shall be established; You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; And from terror, for it shall not come near you.
(1 Cor 15:54-57 NKJV) So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory." {55} "O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?" {56} The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. {57} But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
HOW TO HANDLE THE FEAR AND EMOTIONAL FEELINGS AFTER I HAVE CHOSEN TO DIE ON THE CROSS.
After I have chosen to have my old man nature put to death on the cross,
Satan will try to come back to me and cause me to fear by bringing back
old problems that I had in my life before I made this choice. As I was
writing this material, something happened that caused me to feel
inadequate and feel like I had failed to do something the correct way.
As I was beginning to feel this, the Holy Spirit spoke to me and told me
to take what I was feeling at the moment and place it on the cross with
Jesus so it would die there. Within ten minutes after I had done this
the feeling begin to go away. I felt the victory. However, every day or
so Satan will try to remind me of what I had done wrong. Each time I put
it on the cross to die.
It comes to me and it immediately goes to the cross, and I don’t have to sit around and experience all the bad feelings I would have about myself for doing this. What a relief this is for me. I don’t have to sit around beating up on myself for doing something wrong, or feeling that I have done something wrong.
Each time any things disturbs your peace, immediately take it to the cross and let it die there. In this way, you will continually gain victories over the old things in your life that Satan is trying to accuse you of.
(Job 23:10-12 NKJV) But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. {11} My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and not turned aside. {12} I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.

of the LORD. {18} The LORD has chastened me severely, But He has not
given me over to death. {19} Open to me the gates of righteousness; I
will go through them, And I will praise the LORD. {20} This is the gate
of the LORD, Through which the righteous shall enter. {21} I will praise
You, For You have answered me, And have become my salvation.
arose from the dead, now set your sights on the rich treasures and joys
of heaven where he sits beside God in the place of honor and power. {2}
Let heaven fill your thoughts; don't spend your time worrying about things down here. {3} You should have as little desire for this world as a dead person does. Your real life is in heaven with Christ and God.
{4} And when Christ who is our real life comes back again, you will shine with him and share in all his glories. {5} Away then with sinful, earthly things; deaden the evil desires lurking within you; have nothing to do with sexual sin, impurity, lust, and shameful desires; don't worship the good things of life, for that is idolatry. {6} God's terrible anger is upon those who do such things. {7} You used to do them when your life was still part of this world;
{8} but now is the time to cast off and throw away all these rotten garments of anger, hatred, cursing, and dirty language. {9} Don't tell lies to each other; it was your old life with all its wickedness that did that sort of thing; now it is dead and gone. {10} You are living a brand new kind of life that is continually learning more and more of what is right, and trying constantly to be more and more like Christ who created this new life within you.
{11} In this new life one's nationality or race or education or social position is unimportant; such things mean nothing. Whether a person has Christ is what matters, and he is equally available to all.
{12} Since you have been chosen by God who has given you this new kind
of life, and because of his deep love and concern for you, you should practice tenderhearted mercy and kindness to others. Don't worry about making a good impression on them, but be ready to suffer quietly and patiently. {13} Be gentle and ready to forgive; never hold grudges.
Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. {14} Most of
all, let love guide your life, for then the whole church will stay together in perfect harmony. {15} Let the peace of heart that comes from Christ be always present in your hearts and lives, for this is your responsibility and privilege as members of his body. And always be thankful.
