ARE YOU LOOKING FOR LOVE IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES?
Have you been looking for love and acceptance all your life? Have you tried almost everything? Have you tried to get love from your parents any way you could to no avail? Perhaps one or both of you parents have rejected or abused you, or abandoned you through leaving, divorce, or death. Even when your parents seemed to show love, did you somehow feel they never did?
Have your brothers and sisters ever shown you much love? Have you picked up a few friends along the way, and later realized they didn’t really love you. Have you found a boyfriend or girlfriend that you thought would give you the love you so desperately needed. However, in the end they left you, or found someone else? Perhaps you are one who was engaged to be married only to have the engagement broken off. Maybe, more than once
Did you finally marry, and everything seemed fine for awhile, but later you ended up in a divorce? Or, maybe your marriage has lasted, but it is just an arrangement without much love. Do you have children who have rebelled against you and have never really shown you much love? And, is it possible that you have not shown them much love, either?
In order to get love, have you have tried alcohol, drugs (street and prescription), tobacco, food, sex of all types, exercise, sports, gambling, perfectionism, performance, power education, degrees, knowledge, experience, making a lot of money, work, accomplishments, position, and trying to be famous? Have all of these things failed to give you real love?
Have you tried possessions of all types, cars, boats, motorcycles, clothes, homes, land, stocks, bonds, etc? Have you have owned animals of all types, and in the end they either died or abandoned you? Have you tried going up the corporate ladder to attain high level positions? Have you joined a church in order to get love and acceptance? Have you become outstanding at what you do best? Have any of these ever fulfilled your desire to be loved and accepted?
Have you have tried to control and dominate people into loving you? Have you taken advantage of another person’s weakness to coerce a loving relationship? Have you performed things for people to get their love, acceptance and approval? Or perhaps you are sick constantly, consciously or subconsciously, in order to get attention and love. Have you have tried to use your high level of intellect to get love? Has all of it been futile?
Have you ever felt hopeless, abandoned, and useless? Have thoughts of not existing, dying, or committing suicide crossed your mind. Does it seem that no matter what you try to do or attain, it never gives you the love you are looking for?
Does love and acceptance seems to be the most elusive thing on earth? Does it seem that no matter what you do it never seems to happen in your life?
Could it be that we are looking for a THING, when the real answer is a PERSON? We already know that this person would have to be higher than a human being because no human being has ever been capable of loving us the way they should.
If I eliminate all beings that have been created, I am left with the one eternal being that proclaims they are love. That person is God, our heavenly Father. His very nature and character is Love. He not only proclaims to be love, He is the very essence of Love. He does not proclaim to be able to love. He proclaims that He is Love itself. Here is the scripture that says this: He who does not love does not know God, for God is love (1 John 4:8)
Therefore, if I really want to be loved, and I want to really love other people, then I need to have revealed to me the love that is God, the Father. After all, when you want to know something you have to go to the source that has the knowledge. Obviously God, the Father is that source. He is the beginning and the end of Love. Until he floods me with His Love, I will never know what it is to be loved, to love myself, or be able to love other people.
To know love you have to know God. To know God you have to have revelation because God is so much greater than you are that you can not know him with your emotions, intellect, will, or body unless you first have a revelation of who He is in your human spirit. Your human spirit is the only part of you that is capable of knowing God, Who is Love. "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." (John 4:24 NKJV) Once you have a revelation in your spirit of God, Who is Love, then your imagination, your conscience, your memory, your emotion, your intellect, your will, and your body will all begin to have a knowledge of the love of God.
Love is God so all true love comes from God. Most of us think we know what love is, however, until we have a revelation of God's love we will never understand what love truly is. " He who does not love does not know God, for God is love." (1 John 4:8 NKJV)
The reverse of this scripture is also true. If you do not know God, you can not love. It can only come by revelation and the experiences that follow the revelation. You know love by revelation and by all the things that happen to you after the revelation. It is a revelation and an experience. Once you have the revelation and the experience, then you are capable of loving other people. "Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." (1 John 4:11 NKJV)
Does God want us to really know his love? He wanted it so much that the sent his own son in the form of a man and sacrificed him on a cross, took his shed blood, and restored anyone and everyone who would receive what God did into the fullness of His Love. He did this so His son could die in your place and you would live spiritually forever in heaven. Your physical body may die, but your spirit will never die. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 NKJV) " In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (atoner) for our sins." (1 John 4:10 NKJV)
You can begin to get a revelation about the love of God by meditating on Chapter 13 of First Corinthians and asking the Holy Spirit to begin to reveal God's love to you.
1 I may tell you in many ways that I love you, but if I don't really love you, I am just making a lot of noise
2 Though I can stand up and speak lofty and high sounding words, and know a lot of hard to understand things, but I don't have God, Who is Love, I am nothing
3 If I have total faith in myself so I can almost do miracles and don't have love, I am still nothing
4 And though I am generous enough to give everything I own to feed the poor, it profits me nothing unless I know Love, Who is God.
5 True Love suffers long
6 True Love is kind
7 True Love does not lust after other people’s success or possessions
8 True Love does not parade itself, and is not puffed up and arrogant;
9 True Love does not behave rudely
10 True Love does not seek its own advantage
11 True Love is not provoked
12 True Love thinks no evil
13 True Love does not rejoice in other people's mistakes or sins.
14 True Love rejoices in the truth
14 True Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
15 True Love, Who is God, never fails.
HOW YOU CAN RECEIVE THE REVELATION OF LOVE, WHO IS GOD
If you have never confessed Jesus as your Lord and believed in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead to allow you to have this revelation. Then, confess Him as your Lord and choose to believe that God raised Jesus from the dead so you can receive a true revelation of Love. You can do this right now. I confess Jesus Christ is my personal Lord, and I choose to believe in my heart that God, the Father raised Jesus from the dead so I could have a loving, personal, intimate relationship with my heavenly Father.
I will relax and rest before my Heavenly Father and be at peace in my soul and body. I choose to cease doing all the things I am striving to do right now to try to get love and acceptance. I don't need to strive. I am already loved and accepted in the Father and in His Son Jesus Christ.
I choose to forgive myself and love myself, as I am loved by my Heavenly Father, and by His Son, Jesus. I ask the Father to forgive me for all the times that I have blamed Him for not doing things for me when, where, how, and why I think they should have been done. His forgiveness pours over me like warm relaxing water from the top of my head to my toes. I am awash in His forgiveness and His Love for me. I choose to release all the unforgiveness, anger, and hate that I have for my earthly father, mother, brother(s), sister(s), relative(s), friend(s), teacher(s), preacher(s), boss(es), etc.
Jesus comes, takes my hand, and leads me up to my Heavenly Father's throne. My Heavenly Father comes out to meet me with his arms open wide. I walk into His loving arms and He surrounds me with His love. I feel his love flowing through me and back to Him. He turns, puts his arms around my shoulder, and leads me to His throne. He sits down, and gently pulls me up into his lap and surrounds me with his loving arms. I rest my head on his chest. I am flooded over with His love. His love flows through me in wave after wave of warm, intimate love. I now know that I am loved with an everlasting love, and that the Father's arms are holding me close to Him.
All tension, nervousness, and anxiety leave my body and my soul. I am filled with peace, joy, and love from the top of my head to my toes. I began to tell the Father how much I love Him because of what He has done for me, and for how much He Loves me.
As I go about my daily task, I continually experience the Love of my Heavenly Father flowing through me at all times.
Father, I praise You, my brother Jesus, and the Holy Spirit for continually keeping me in my Heavenly Father's Love. Thank you, Father. In Jesus' name, Amen!
When you are baptized in God's love, will you write me and give me your testimony about how it happened to you. If you have already been baptized in his love and it has changed you profoundly would you please send me your testimony, also. As I receive these testimonies, I will publish them on the God's Love * Ministries website so other people can be encouraged and blessed by them.
